Foz do Iguaçu is known for its Waterfalls, however, for those who do not yet know, there are several other places and many other tourist activities to do in the city. The Iguaçu National Park is one of these places and attracts tourists from all over the world.

The Park is located in the extreme west of Paraná and borders the Argentine territory. It is 185,000 hectares of great beauty. In the park, the activities available are hiking, rafting, rappelling, rock climbing and boat trips amid waterfalls.

Iguazu Falls

The Falls are located within the Iguaçu National Park, being the postcard of the city. They are formed by 275 waterfalls and considered the largest waterfall in water volume in the world, about 1.3 million liters per second. Tickets for visitation can be purchased on the official website, being the same price as the physical box office.

Bird Park

With more than 140 species and 1,100 birds, the park was created with the purpose of preserving the environment, as well as the reproduction of animals. It has an area of 17 hectares. There, there are nurseries of parakeets, macaws, flamingos and toucans, as well as, butterfly garden, hummingbird nursery and a space for reptiles with snakes and alligators.

Macuco Safari

This tour is pure adventure and adrenaline. Carried out by inflatable dinghy by the Iguaçu River, a few meters from the Falls. The price of this tour is usually a little more expensive, so when you program yourself to do so, try to find out about it.

Helicopter tour

Ten minutes from the impressive aerial view of the Iguassu Falls, it costs 200 reais. The tour has its price, but certainly, it is something unforgettable. Remembering that the values mentioned may change.

Muslim Mosque

In Foz do Iguaçu, it is also possible to learn more about the Muslim religion. A guided tour of the Sunni mosque Omar Ibn Al-Khattab takes place between 9 and 11:30 am and 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

However, other visits, due to prayers that occur 5 times a day, should also be scheduled.

Buddhist Temple

Considered the second largest Buddhist temple in Latin America, it is located near the Paraná River, which divides Brazil and Paraguay. In the temple there are several sculptures, one of the most famous is that of the Amitabha Buddha.

Ice bar Iguazú and Snow Park

The Icebar is on the Argentine side of the triple border, in the city of Puerto Iguazú. A bar made of ice. But don't worry, as suitable clothing is offered to visitors.

Snow Park is located in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, being one of the eight largest snow parks in the world. The place offers all the necessary items for the safety and enjoyment of the visitor.

Dam Lighting – Itaipu Complex

Night show that takes place at the Itaipu hydroelectric dam. In the show are used more than 740 reflectors and around 110 luminaires, in addition to soundtrack to compose the show.

Gastronomic Pole Casimiro Montenegro Filho – Itaipu Complex

Itaipu offers tourists the Astronomical Pole, which brings together planetarium, observatory and observation platform with the naked eye, in view of this, the tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. In still, there are other attractions such as miniature replicas of probes and spaceships, solar system simulators, telescope and various other interesting equipment.

Valley of the dinosaurs mouth of the Iguaçu

The Dreamland tourism network of Foz do Iguaçu offers tourists the "Valley of the Dinosaurs", with more than twenty life-size dolls of dinosaurs that move and emit sounds in the middle of the forest, as well as the Wax Museum and the "Wonders of the World" that brings together miniature replicas of various monuments.

When to go

The Falls are magnificent all year round. However, watch out for some periods when the landscape may change. In summer its waterfalls then completely full and with maximum volume, already in winter, the volume decreases and they are in the most defined form.


  • Always use sunscreen and repellent.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Don't forget the papers.
  • Raincoats can be useful.
  • Choose the tours in advance.
